Program Analytics
The Program Board Analytics module provides comprehensive insights into the progress and distribution of work across features, user stories, teams, and sprints. It comprises four key tabs: Summary, Progress by Feature, Progress by Teams, and Progress by Sprints.
1. Summary Analytics
This tab gives a high-level overview of the program’s current state:
Feature Section
Total Features: Displays the number of features in the program backlog.
Assigned Features: Count and percentage of features assigned to teams.
Planned in Sprint: Features planned in the active or upcoming sprints.
Unassigned Features: Features without any linked user stories.
User Story Section
Total User Stories: Shows all user stories linked to features.
Assigned User Stories: Count and percentage assigned to teams.
Planned in Sprint: Stories scheduled in active or future sprints.
Unestimated Stories: Stories lacking time or effort estimates.
Teams & Sprints Summary
No. of Teams: Total active teams within the program.
No. of Sprints: Total number of sprints defined.
Visual Charts
Progress Summary: Horizontal bars showing completion status of features and stories.
Team Progress: Team-wise progress tracking.
Feature by Card Type: Distribution of features based on type (e.g., Enabler, Goal).
Feature by Status Category: Visual split of features across status (To Do, In Progress, Done).
2. Progress by Feature
This section visualizes feature-level progress:
Progress by Feature: Donut chart showing the distribution of features in To Do, In Progress, and Done statuses.
Progress by User Story: Tracks the progress of associated user stories.
Progress by Story Points: Measures completion rate based on estimated story points.
3. Progress by Teams
This tab breaks down progress and capacity by each team:
Team Panels: Each team has its own section summarizing:
Total Features & Stories: Count by status.
Completion Rate: Visual indicator of overall progress.
Open vs. Resolved Dependencies: Tracks cross-team or inter-feature dependencies.
Load & Capacity Chart: Displays effort load versus available capacity across sprints.
4. Progress by Sprints
Focused on sprint-wise performance and allocation:
Sprint Overview: Each sprint’s date range is displayed.
Feature and Story Tracking: Similar to team view, broken down by sprint.
Dependencies: Number of open and resolved items.
Load vs Capacity Chart: Sprint-wise graphical load/capacity comparison.
This module helps program managers, release train engineers, and team leads quickly identify bottlenecks, underutilization, and dependency risks, facilitating better planning and execution at scale.
