Program and Team Objectives
Objectives in Savah play a key role in aligning teams and stakeholders around shared goals during a Program Increment (PI). With real-time tracking and smart linking to Features and Stories, Savah removes the need for manual updates and provides complete transparency into progress and value delivery.
Purpose of Objectives
Encourage goal alignment across teams.
Drive visibility for progress and business value achievement.
Support both Program-level and Team-level planning.
Types of Objectives in Savah
Committed Objectives These are the goals teams commit to achieving during the PI.
Uncommitted Objectives These are stretch goals that may be achieved if capacity allows.
Both types are visible in planning views and progress dashboards.
Creating Objectives in Savah
Savah offers intuitive options to create and manage objectives from both Program and Team views.
Program-Level Objectives
Navigate to the Objectives.
Click "Add Objective" under the Program section.
Enter the Objective details.
Click "Save" to create the objective.
Team-Level Objectives
In the Program Board, go to the specific Team lane.
Click "Add Objective" within the team’s panel.
Team Objectives Fill in the objective details as listed above.
Click "Save" to add the team objective.
Linking Work Items to Objectives
Objectives can be linked to Features (Epics) and Stories.
This enables automatic progress tracking based on the completion of linked items.
For Jira-integrated users, it is recommended to link Epics to leverage story-level completion.
Viewing Objectives and Progress
Savah provides a clear and organized view of objectives for both Program and Team levels:
Program Objectives Panel
Displays a list of committed and uncommitted objectives.
Shows progress based on:
Completion of linked items (% completed)
Business Value Achievement (based on completed work)
Team Objectives Panel
Lists objectives specific to each team.
Similar progress indicators are shown:
Completion %
Achieved BV vs Planned BV
Best Practices
Define objectives early during PI planning.
Ensure each objective has a clear link to deliverables (features/stories).
Regularly review progress and update BV achievement where needed.
By using Objectives in Savah effectively, teams can align around outcomes, drive delivery, and maintain visibility into how their work contributes to larger program goals.
