Map PI Board Teams and Sprints with Jira

Savah allows seamless mapping between your Program Board Teams and Sprints with Jira Projects and Sprints, enabling two-way synchronization of planning data. Before proceeding, ensure your Workspace is linked to a Jira Integration Account. If not, follow the Jira Integration Help Article to complete this prerequisite.

Enable Jira Mapping for Program Board Teams and Sprints

Once the Program Board's workspace is linked with a Jira Integration Account, Jira actions will become visible on the board.

Step-by-Step Mapping Process

1. Open Jira Mapping Popup

Click on the Jira icon on the respective Team Swimlane of your Program Board. A popup will open to configure Jira mapping for that team.

2. Select Jira Project

- From the Project dropdown, choose a Jira project that’s already linked with the integration account. - If the desired project is not listed: - Click 'Link New Project'. - A popup will open listing available Jira projects. - Select the project and click 'Link Project'. - The project will now appear in the dropdown list.

3. Select Jira Board

Once a Jira project is selected, choose a corresponding Jira Board. This step is required to fetch and map sprints.

4. Map Savah Sprints with Jira Sprints

For each Savah sprint:

- Do Not Sync – Sprint will not be synced with Jira. - Open the dropdown next to each sprint and select one of the following options: - Create New Sprint in Jira – A new sprint will be created in Jira with the format: Team Name + Savah Sprint Name. - Select Existing Jira Sprint – Choose an already active sprint from the selected Jira board.

5. Save the Configuration

Click Save. - If 'Create New Sprint in Jira' is selected for any sprint, Savah will create new Sprints in Jira and map those sprints with Savah. - Sprint mappings will now drive all syncing activities between Savah and Jira.

What Happens After Mapping

- The linked Jira Sprint will automatically be assigned when a User Story is created inside a sprint cell. - If a Jira Story is dragged from the backlog (or another cell) into the mapped sprint cell, the associated Jira Sprint will be updated accordingly.
